Our History

Abubakr Mosque started its long journey from its humble beginning at a house in Villiers Road. Due to planning permission issues, Villiers Road premises was abandoned and the trustees sought alternative venues, but on a bigger scale due to demand.

When Southall Town Hall building came on the market. Abubakr mosque trustees put in a succesful bid for this building. Unfortunately, due to pressure from other communities and the neighbouring Hindu temple, Ealing council refused to conclude the sale and eventually withdrew the offer altogether.

The searching efforts finally ended with the successful acquisition of West End House on Southall Broadway. Planning permission was granted for AbuBakr Mosque in June 1999.

West End House, an office block building, has undergone extensive refurbishment and extension work over the years to serve its new role of a mosque and a school.
